Unlimited Bio announced a breakthrough milestone: Team members Tristan Roberts and COO Vladimir Leshko became the first healthy humans to receive VEGF plasmid gene therapy — administered into the muscle and scalp to promote vascular rejuvenation.
VEGF plasmid gene therapy improves local vasculature, allowing for better blood, oxygen, and nutrient delivery. It's currently used for chronic lower limb ischemia (a complication of PAD). Unlimited Bio is exploring the preventive and enhancing applications of VEGF therapy (as well as other gene therapies), such as treating age-related alopecia and improving muscle performance.
This self-administration marks a pioneering step in responsible right-to-try experimentation, bridging research and application. It underscores Unlimited Bio’s mission to translate longevity science into accessible, real-world interventions.
